Mid-Atlantic Industrial Services Corp. Announces Success Of Industrial Floor Polishing Project
Highland Park, NJ - Mid-Atlantic Industrial Services Corp., the largest independent flooring contractor serving the Mid-Atlantic States, has announced the success of an industrial floor polishing project. The success of the company’s latest project highlights Mid-Atlantic industrial Services Corp’s continually increasing reputation within the industrial flooring industry, as the organization helps their clients achieve superior finishes to their in-house flooring surfaces.
Construction organization Herrod Construction Co. hired the team at Mid-Atlantic Industrial Services Corp. to rehabilitate an existing concrete floor. The company had been experiencing issues related to air-borne moisture that was absorbed onto the surface floor, creating an unsafe environment for those operating heavy machinery within the area. They contacted Mid-Atlantic Industrial Services Corp. to find a solution that would benefit the organization and its workflow processes for the long-term.
The building owner began with diagnostic testing on the concrete floor in an effort to identify the cause of the problem. The results of the tests confirmed that the top 1/8” of the floor contained some kind of a dessicant that was retaining the moisture that made the floor very slippery.
Mid-Atlantic Industrial Services corp utilized their Shavemaster machines to grind the surface to remove the top 1/8” of the concrete. As part of their work, MAIS’s team also used industrial vacuums to eliminate dust within the air and allow the employees to achieve a safe work environment.
They then smoothed the floor’s surface using Planetary Diamond Grinders. They continued the diamond grinding using various metal bond diamonds to remove the surface profile generated by the Shavemaster machines. They then applied a lithium-based densifyer to harden and dustproof the concrete surface while continuing to polish the concrete with various resin bond diamonds. Upon reaching the owner’s desired finish they applied a lithium based guard product and burnished it into the floor.
The results of MAIS’s work delighted the management at Herrod Construction Co. Their moisture issue was eliminated and the treated surface now resists water absorbtion and surface abrasion.
